How we choose your seller
Every order is split by seller and each part is routed on its own. A seller is considered when they hold the stock, have a working pickup address and can deliver to your pincode. Among the sellers who can serve you, we minimise the total you pay, and the delivery charge you see is never more than the courier costs us.
What we minimise
The total you pay. Ties go to the lower cost to fulfil, then to fewer packages, then to the seller identifier so the same cart always routes the same way.
What that depends on
- Which sellers are considered
- A seller is considered when they hold the stock, have a working pickup address, and can deliver to your pincode.
- When a seller qualifies on price
- A seller qualifies when the price our pricing formula produces for them is at or below the price shown to you.
- When nobody qualifies on price
- If no seller qualifies, others can cover the shortfall, and the delivery charge is capped at what the courier costs us.
- When a cheaper option replaces the first one
- We check whether another seller would lower both what you pay and what the order costs to fulfil. If one does, and you pay less, that option ships.
- How the delivery charge is worked out
- The delivery charge is never more than the courier costs us, and it falls when a cheaper seller makes up the difference.
- When an option is dropped
- An option is dropped when the order would lose money before any promotion or discount is applied.
- How your order is packed
- Everything from one seller travels as one package. Weight is rounded up to the courier slab, and an order heavier than 31.5 kg travels as several parcels.
- Cash on delivery
- Cash on delivery carries a flat fee, waived above a cart value we set and capped at a maximum order value. The delivery charge is the same as for a prepaid order.
- Discounts and coins
- Coupons, coins and free-delivery codes are applied last, after we have checked the order is viable. A discount can take your total below zero, and the seller is still paid the amount agreed with them.
- Delivery charges for a collection
- A collection can carry its own delivery terms — free delivery above a cart value, a flat charge, or a small addition. Where they apply they change only the delivery charge: the seller is paid the same either way, and FasalKart carries the difference.
